Olivia and Scott’s wedding at Wortley Hall, Sheffield, South Yorkshire.
Wortley Hall is a historic mansion located in the village of Wortley on the outskirts of Sheffield. It is one of its historical landmarks. It has stunning Georgian architecture and an aristocratic heritage. Wortley Hall was built in the 18th century for the Wharncliffe family, prominent landowners in the area. Over the years, the mansion has seen various uses, including as a private residence, a military hospital during World War II, and a conference and wedding venue. The Sothh Yorkshire wedding venue has a sprawling estate encompassing lush gardens, picturesque courtyards, and ornate interiors that speak to its aristocratic origins. Wedding couples can enjoy the grandeur and charm of the historic hall, making it a memorable and picturesque location for weddings.
Been a Sheffield documentary wedding photographer and living close to Wortley Hall, I love it when I get to shoot here. So when Oliva & Scott contacted me, I was over the moon.
It had a tremendously chilled vibe on the morning of Olivia and Scott’s big day. The banter was flowing along with the bubbles. Olivia made her way down for the ceremony; her grandad was waiting to sing her in. This was the most fantastic moment. There was not a dry eye in the house. The day was so much fun; Olivia looked stunning in her Rosa Clara dress from Ivory Fox Bridal; it suited Olivia so well. I got goose pimples as soon as Olivia was dressed; she looked incredible. The florals from the fabulous Botanical Floristry were amazing, as usual. Also, Andrew and Chris from 24Live had the atmosphere kicked off to a tee. Great to work alongside fabulous suppliers.
I love the vibe of a Georgian property; the architecture and some of the decaying facades make stunning backdrops. There are so many little nooks, not to mention the incredibly manicured lawns. You might even get a little feathered friend paying a visit to your ceremony!!! It’s a photographer’s dream to work in these locations. Having these surroundings as the backdrop to your wedding photos is so nice. I love to use the architecture in quirky ways to create different compositional photographs. It’s pretty hard not to fall in love with this sprawling countryside.
