Katie & Adam Parr Green Hall Cheshire
There are weddings that stay with you. Then there’s Katie & Adam’s at Parr Green Hall, Cheshire… and honestly, I’m still not over it.
Parr Green Hall in Cheshire also known as Scarlet Hall, is a gem of a wedding venue, set in the rolling countryside just outside Chester, with sweeping views across the Cheshire Plain and easy reach off market towns like Sandbach and Nantwich. This part of Cheshire is steeped in history, from the timber-framed architecture of nearby Little Moreton Hall to the leafy trails of Astbury Mere Country Park, making it a dream location for couples who want style and substance. Parr Green Hall itself blends rustic charm with modern touches, its converted barn offering a light-filled, versatile space that works just as beautifully for intimate gatherings as it does for full-scale celebrations. The surrounding area is a photographer’s playground, with golden fields, stunning woodland and quintessential English villages just minutes away. It’s this mix of accessibility, scenery and character that makes Parr Green Hall stand out in the Cheshire wedding scene, a venue that feels personal and private, yet rooted in one of the most picturesque corners of the North West.

Parr Green Hall- Home From Home
From the minute I arrived at Parr Green Hall, tucked away in the glorious Cheshire countryside near Chester, the vibe was set. The venue? Next level. It’s got that home-from-home warmth but with a super stylish edge. The barn’s been converted with real thought and purpose. Light pours in, character oozes from every beam, and it’s all wrapped up in the kind of effortless luxury that just works.
Parr Green Hall weddings are carefully curated by the wonderful Dale Alexandra Events, and you can really see the care and detail that goes into every part of the day. We were looked after so well all day, with Tracey and Rachel being the loveliest, friendliest team you could wish for. Nothing was ever too much trouble and it made the whole experience feel effortless.
Now, Katie and Adam told me early on they weren’t the most comfortable in front of a camera. But honestly, they were amazing. They completely embraced the day, trusted me to do my thing, and ended up absolutely shining. The laughs were non-stop, the energy was infectious and I’ve genuinely never felt more welcomed into a group of people. Their crew had me in stitches from the word go.
Morning & Ceremony
One of the most beautiful moments was when Katie’s dad, or Meatball Mike, as he’s affectionately known, came into the room to see her for the first time. He walked in, saw his stunning daughter, and everything stopped for a second. No words needed. Just a whole lot of love and pride. Proper goosebumps. Let’s not forget Arthur, their four-legged VIP. Arthur the sausage dog was very much part of the guest list and rightly so. A little shy to begin with, but by the end of the day he was owning it, I even got a teeny cuddle. There was even a tiny Arthur replica on the cake. Obsessed.
The ceremony took place outside, bathed in the Cheshire country side. Their friend Caron pulled double duty, not only creating all the gorgeous florals for the day but also stepping up as celebrant. The result? Vows that were full of humour, heart, and that rare kind of meaning you only get when someone truly knows you. More couples need to do this. It hit differently, in all the right ways.
Meet Arthur
Meet Arthur, the gorgeous sausage dog who, along with Katie and Adam, completely stole the show. Full of character and charm, he was a huge part of the day, from making a star appearance as the cake topper to trotting his way onto the dance floor later that night. Arthur wasn’t just a guest, he was part of the wedding’s style and story, and he absolutely owned it.
More dogs at weddings please!

Cheshire Wedding Reception
After the “I do’s” and a glorious confetti moment, guests headed for the courtyard for drinks and some of the most delicious canapés I’ve ever had. And I don’t say that lightly. As a lifelong foodie, when the food’s good… I’m all in. And wow, was it good. They even served Katie and Adam’s portions on personalised wooden boards with their wedding date engraved. A keepsake for the kitchen that felt properly personal.
We made the most of the stunning courtyard for the group shots. It turned into a bit of a scramble for shade, Cheshire decided to show off with full sunshine and zero breeze, but the laughter didn’t stop. Everyone was on form and just up for it.
Wedding Breakfasts At Parr Green Hall
Then came the reception reveal. Katie and Adam had gone for a wildflower-inspired look with relaxed florals, plenty of candles, and thoughtful touches everywhere you looked. Parr Green Hall looked incredible and when the team showed the couple their room, Katie’s reaction said it all. That moment of seeing everything come together… it never gets old. Speeches were another standout part of the day. They kept them short and sweet but packed with emotion. Funny, heartfelt, and just the right amount of roast.
As the sun dipped, the evening kicked in with serious style. A retro 1950s Airstream photo booth rocked up, and I’ve never seen guests queue faster. Cool, nostalgic, and completely in tune with the vibe. One guest whipped out a bubble gun, yes, really, and suddenly everyone wanted one. It was hilarious. Bubbles flying across the lawns like confetti 2.0.
Then it was cake cutting and first dance time… and after that, the night just took off. One of those dance floors where no one holds back and no one wants to leave.
Parr Green Hall Wedding Portraits
Portraits with Katie and Adam were golden. Quite literally. The light that evening was pure magic… soft, directional and totally on our side. We didn’t overthink it. Just took a wander, found a quiet little pocket of space away from the buzz, and let the two of them breathe for a minute. Nothing forced. No awkward posing. Just the two of them, taking it all in, while I quietly snapped away. By then, Katie had added a bow to her dress to switch up her evening look and wow… it transformed the whole vibe. A perfect day-to-evening move that gave the portraits a fresh energy without losing any of the elegance. You could see how much they’d relaxed into the day by that point too… all the nerves had melted away and it was just easy. Natural. Effortlessly cool. The kind of light you cross your fingers for at every wedding, mixed with a couple who trusted the process
Parr Green Hall On 35ml Film
I’ve started incorporating 35mm film more and more into weddings. And shooing film at Parr Green Hall, it hits different. Shooting on a mix of film cameras gives those timeless grains, textures and tones that just can’t be replicated digitally. The colours are stunning, rich and full of life, and that golden hour light at Parr Green Hall? On 35mm film it’s goosebump territory every time. Film is boldly creative, letting you feel the frame in a way that makes the images live and breathe. For those that love 35mm film, the nostalgia it brings adds depth to every shot, especially for the wild-in-love couples who want their day to feel truly eternal. Grain, texture and those dreamy tones make every frame sing, and it works so beautifully with the natural charm and style of Parr Green Hall. Check out the film room below to see how these moments translate, it’s a totally different way of seeing and experiencing the day, and one I absolutely can’t get enough of.
PArr Green Hall From a PHOTOGRAPHERS perspective
From a photographer’s perspective, Parr Green Hall is a dream to shoot. Nestled in the Cheshire countryside, it offers an abundance of natural light and variety that makes storytelling flow so naturally. The courtyard is one of my favourite spaces, its rustic stone and soft tones bouncing light beautifully, which is a lifesaver on bright sunny days when harsh shadows can be a challenge. The converted barn is equally photogenic, with its open beams and warm textures giving portraits and candids so much depth. Every corner of the grounds brings something new… manicured lawns, countryside views and little hidden nooks that create opportunities for creative compositions. On Katie and Adam’s day, the sun was strong, so exposing for highlights was key. It’s about instinct, reading the scene and knowing when to press the shutter, something that only comes with experience. Later, when the light softened into that gorgeous golden glow, everything came alive — Katie’s bow detail, the laughter, the connection, it all fell into place. Parr Green Hall truly gives a photographer endless material to work with, blending rustic charm with contemporary elegance, and it makes documenting a wedding here not just a job, but a joy.
