North Yorkshire wedding photography.
This Yorkshire wedding was a fun, relaxed marqee style wedding with all the hay bales and festoon lighting you could throw at it!! It was spectaculr.
If you got married whilst we lived in covid times, I salute you!!! It has been a different and somewhat challenging year for many couples who have planned a wedding. I was super lucky to photograph a few weddings that year—a far cry from a typical wedding season.
For some reason, they have adopted the name ‘Micro Weddings’, for me a little strange; no idea where this came from. I will stick to referring to weddings last year as a ‘more intermate wedding’— and my word, they still pack a punch and honestly have a completely stress-free and relaxed way of doing things. Love will always be love, no matter what.
The lovely Checky & Chris had an intimate family marquee wedding on their parent’s grounds in North Yorkshire back in July; literally the day after lockdown….talk about cutting it fine!! Checky & Chris had their immediate family around them for the day. The morning was filled with chilled and fun vibes as the kids played in the garden and the adults made homemade pizza’s. After bridal prep, we went to St John the Baptist Church in Hunsingore for a stunning ceremony. After the ceremony, it was a short trip back to Checky’s parent’s estate for drinks, canapes and a couple of group photographs. We walked down to the stunning Wills Marquee that was next to the lake. As we walked down, I shot some natural wedding day portraits as we strolled. Check & Chris had their beloved dogs, and it was so much fun with them as they were super boisterous and would bound over and want to get in on the action. We stopped halfway down to see Checky’s horse, a very poignant moment for Checky and incredibly moving. Chris is in the Army (hence the uniform), so they were both moving away and could not keep her horse; it was very emotional and essential for Checky to have these images. In the distance, we could see the marquee in all its glory, Wills Marques did a fabulous job, and the florals looked stunning from Lucy MacNicoll Floral Design. Log fires haybales, a boat and lake- spells FUN!! The day just flowed and was so relaxed, so fun and amazing to see a wonderful family enjoy each other’s company for such a fabulous occasion.
Thank you to Checky & Chris for putting their trust into me to capture their wedding day. You made a fabulous Bride & Groom. It was so much fun to be around you all and thank you for feeding us such fantastic food. x
